Five: Drugstore Lip Care

photo 3Hello. My name is Jessica and I have a problem. I am a drugstore lip care product addict (Try saying that ten times). I just can’t pass by that stupid little aisle at the drug  store with all the chapstick just lying there (you totally know what I’m talking about). I want them all! Here’s my take on five popular drugstore lip care products. Also, yes. I do know how to count. I am aware that only four of the lip products are pictured. You will see why at the end of the 1 (1)

1.) Nivea Milk & Honey BUY ON AMAZON
– If you’re on YouTube as much as I am, you have probably seen these everywhere. And, they are there for good reason. I LOVE them. It’s just the right consistency to put under any lipstick or gloss. It’s not too thick and the scent isn’t overpowering. This is my everyday go-to chapstick and it will continue to be for a while. The only negative is that you don’t want to eat this one. It doesn’t taste like milk and honey. 2 (1)

2.) Burt’s Bee’s Chapstick BUY ON AMAZON
– This one is a classic. I will always have one of these floating around too. When my lips are in need of some serious repair, I use this and it clears everything right up. It has the minty feeling that I love, and you might hate. Still, this is a solid chapstick that I will need to have with me somewhere at all 3 (1)

3.) Vaseline Lip Care (CHEAPER IN STORE)
– This is one that I use before I go to sleep when my lips are feeling dry. It’s a great one to keep my lips hydrated and not cause any problems with irritation or scent. It’s great to have by your bedside and makes your lips look nice! It’s just a little inconvenient to carry around and have to stick your finger in all the time. Where are you going to put the excess? At least at home, I have tissues!

4.) Udder Stick – Pomegranate (CHEAPER IN STORE)
– Impulse Buy Alert! It was  $2.99 at WalMart and that’s on the expensive side for chapstick. I was intrigued. Come on, it’s called UDDER STICK. I wanted to see what it was about. This one is thicker and I am NOT a fan of the film it leaves if it accidentally gets onto your tongue. It’s a little heavy and so I need to put it onto my finger and then apply it onto my lips carefully avoiding anything that has immediate contact with the inside of my mouth. Other than that, the product actually works pretty well. I just don’t think I will be purchasing this again.

5.) Nivea – Kiss of Shimmer (DON’T DO IT)
-Now THIS. I didn’t even have the patience to keep it to take a picture. This stuff is frosted lips of the pop stars of yesterday in a tube. With this on your lips, you’ll be ready to shoot a music video with any of those 90’s pop stars. I was so disappointed. The packaging was so cute and I love all of Nivea’s other products. Oh well. It’s one less lip product I need to worry about!

Don’t worry. I didn’t forget you. If you were to use any of these, Burt’s Bees would be the way to go. I’m sure you’ll love it. Also, with the holidays coming up, any girl would love lip products 1-4. You could make a box of products they need/like or just give one to her as a gag gift. Girls will stash lip products everywhere. We lose them. We find them. We stash them. We hoard them. We use them.

I still have SO many to talk about. Part Two will be coming soon.
